PEL leverages the Group’s nearly 25-year rich experience in addressing the needs of the power Utilities; EPC companies; Power generation, Transmission and Distribution companies; Large industries in various sectors (viz Steel, Cement, Petroleum, Petrochemicals) – through its range of eco-friendly (low noise), aesthetically designed Extra High Voltage power transformers up to 1000 MVA/500 KV. Its annual production capacity of 10,000 MVA, projected to go up to 35,000 MVA, would make PEL one of the largest transformer manufacturers in India.
PEL’s design team with its expertise in addressing high voltage testing requirements, forms the very core of transformer manufacturing. Equipped with CAD workstations for fast and error-free manufacturing monitoring information systems, PEL produces transformers with the capability to withstand systemic short circuits, lightning and switching surges keeping the oil and winding temperatures and hot spots under control.
PEL’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility uses the latest swing shear technology based CRGO cutting and slitting lines from GEORG of Germany; and core building/lifting platform, coil upender, horizontal and vertical coil winding machines along with a Vapour phase drying plant, Vaccum oven with iso-static coil stabilizing system from global technology leaders. Augmenting the manufacturing is the in-house fabrication of the paper-insulated winding copper conductor.
The plant’s Testing Facility uses latest technologies with equipment from High Volt of Germany to conduct routine, acceptance and type tests on the transformers. The EHV test lab is also equipped with the latest technology equipment designed for near-zero discharges for conducting partial discharge tests.
The plant has excellent transport connectivity with three major ports within a radius of 150km giving PEL customers – in India and overseas – an additional advantage of timely and cost – effective delivery of supplies.
